Resumo: | This dissertation addresses a set of linguistic forms that, in the Ticuna language, serve to point out and know. These are deictic forms and are often linked to the epistemic modality. Their study is carried out here in the context of traditional Ticuna narratives, taking into account the morphology of the forms and possibilities of application of the results of this study in school practice. The option of verifying the occurrence of deictic forms in narratives situates the research carried out in the framework of narrative communication, in which there is a narrative enunciation, characterized, among other things, in the case of indigenous societies, by an interaction between narrator and audience. From the author's point of view, the research results obtained from narratives would be more easily mediated when they were taken to school practice. Methodologically, this option meant dealing with the linguistic structure, with the narrative text as a whole (not as the sum of linguistic sentences) and also, with a the theory of deixis. The development of the analysis can be seen throughout this dissertation, as well as the attempt to point out to ways of mediation of research results towards Basic Education. Part of the conclusions reached are: a) the confirmation of the linguistic difference between past and not past, as shown in Soares's description (2005); b) the relevance of the notion of distance for the internal constitution of the Ticuna language deictic system; and the importance of investigating whether or not there is a need, for linguistic purposes, to operate with a possible difference between 'distant' and 'farther away'; c) the importance of space (and types of space) for the internal constitution of the Ticuna language system; (d) indications of tonal differences between deictics. Considering the need to invest in the studies of discursive and social deixis, alongside with the study of one’s own narratives and their types, the author emphasizes the importance of continuing with this research in an oral society. |
