Resumo: This thesis presentes the theorical method to estimate the deflection of railway track. Evaluating the mechanical performance of the structure, computer simulations pointed to the necessity of new methods for estimating the deflection. Were performed computer simulations using the finite element method (FEM) within ABAQUS 2016 software to parameterize the influence of different variables to estimate deflections, such as load, gauge, rails, sleepers, thickness and resilient modulus of layers in overall mechanical behavior of the track, which allows with the results obtained in each simulation to form a matrix system correlating the parameterized variables group and the encountered deflections. Were applied an elastic model to simulate the rails and sleepers, the Drucker-Prager’s criterion for the ballast and the Brazilian GUIMARÃES (2009) model for the subbalast and subgrade, implemented by UMAT routine. The solution of this system allows the definition of a general equation that can be used to estimate the track deflection between those simulated or others like. Comparisons of formulated equation results with real deflections values measured in the field by other authors show tha applicability of the method, making it an effective tool for predicting vertical displacements of the track in the Brazilian network.
