The aim of this study is to evaluate the stress concentration factors in damaged side panels of an FPSO and estimate their effect on the fatigue life by proposing a methodology for assessing the residual time of fatigue life of the damaged structure. There is a description of the numerical model with definition of their geometric parameters, material properties, and boundary conditions and loading finite element mesh. The correlation between the numerical and experimental results in order to validate the numerical model will be displayed. Lastly, it will also make a study of the parametric variables in the study. The developed analytical formulation will be presented based on the results of the parametric study able to provide stress concentration factors depending on the size of the damage and the panel. The fatigue life is based on analytical and numerical results with support the theoretical model developed.
