Resumo: | In Brazil, 214,868 tons of urban waste are generated daily, and much of this waste is accumulated in areas unfit to receive it. The improper disposal causes many disturbances, besides the risk of environmental contamination and the spread of diseases, by animals that are attracted in search of food and come to inhabit these places, becoming vectors. Faced with this problem, changes in habits and attitudes of the population can minimize the impacts of garbage on the environment and its effects on health. Thus, this work intends to elaborate a didactic sequence of easy applicability, with an investigative and participative bias for the environmental education and health promotion classes, with an approach of the theme “Urban waste and its impacts”, focused on basic education. This sequence aims to raise awareness on students about the environmental and health issues associated with waste, causing changes in daily habits in waste management and disposal. The project was developed in (06) six stages and had dialogued classes on classification and type of waste, bibliographic and photographic survey of the destination of waste with data collection of the visited place, video exhibitions, confection of informative material and production of a didactic game involving students of the second year of high school of a public school located in the city of São João de Meriti, RJ. The students identified, in school and in public areas of their itinerary, wasteful practices, improper waste management and disposal, leading them to rethink some of their daily practices and propose actions that minimize the problem of urban waste. The students' answers to the questions that guided this study, the performance in the preparation of informative material and the creation of the game, showed that the didactic sequence was able to correspond to the teacher's need to develop a facilitating method, of low cost and easy applicability, being a instrument that can contribute to the literature on the education about urban waste and its impacts on health and the environment. |
