Resumo: | The objective of this work is to develop a computational tool to estimate the propulsive performance (BHP power and total efficiency) with high precision of high speed crafts at low and high speeds by using only hull and propeller geometric data. Cavitation levels on propellers were also evaluated. This algorithm will optimize or select the propulsion system of these vessels. In order to reach this objective, methods to calculate the resistance, hull-propeller interaction coefficients, required propeller power and capitation coefficients were studied and programmed in the algorithm developed in LabVIEW. To verify the accuracy of the algorithm two case studies were evaluated. The first case verifies the calculation of power, rotation and torque performed by the algorithm, providing good results. In this case, the algorithm was used to optimize the propulsion system, improving the propulsion performance. The second case evaluates the accuracy of the resistance calculation using three models of high speed displacement, validating methods used in this work. In addition, a propulsion system was selected for one of the models by using the algorithm. |
