Resumo: This thesis was guided by the overall goal of understanding how the “experimental article” is discursive-dialogically constituted by considering its architectural and compositional forms. Specifically, this thesis aimed: to investigate how periodical mediation takes place in the relationship author-reader-editor; to analyze the “experimental article” genre architectural form; to analyze the compositional genre form. The theoretical assumptions are anchored mainly in the initial Bakhtin’s essays, in which the philosopher, by dwelling on the aesthetic speech, makes important distinctions and general traces on the ethical and cognitive discourses. We also seek in Volóchinov (VOLÓCHINOV, 2013 [1926]) elements to the form’s analysis as the enunciation condenses, in it structure, stable values of a particular social group. Finally, in the german philosopher E. Cassirer (2001, 2011, 2012), we base our reflections on the scientific speech which is materialized in the genre. Fifteen experimental articles pertaining to different knowledge areas were selected. The considered selection criteria were: 1. Articles published in indexed scientific journals. 2. Articles written in Portuguese Language. 3. Experimental articles. The variety of the experimental areas is justified by the adopted hypothesis, which are: 1. The experimental article is based on the same “numerical symbolism”, in the sense which Cassirer (2012) confers to that expression - The data, when interpreted, become relationships among variables; 2. The same architectural form underlies the compositional form. Initially, we analyze the discourse of the scientific journal which published the articles, focusing in the observation of author-reader mediation and in the analysis of sphere underlying values. Afterwards, we analyze the gender architectural form and concluded that this form refers to world domination (human, animal, natural) by means of experimental evidence. Finally, as we tackle the compositional form, we interpreted how the author claims your sovereignty in the text in a tense relation with the reader. In this moment, through the theatrical act metaphor, we see the author “dealing” with the reader, in “three acts”: the invitation and the reinforcement to invitation to watch to the experiment; the presentation of experiment; the “end” of the presentation, marked by the reader counterword anticipation.
