Resumo: | The present research aims to analyze the conformity of the basic and complementary bibliography of an undergraduate course at the Federal University of Paraíba - UFPB that is in the process of evaluation and the collection of the sectoral library to which the course belongs. The theoretical foundation brings studies on the evaluation of higher education in Brazil and on the history, organization, functioning and evaluation of university libraries in Brazil. The research is part of the quantitative approach and the case study. Data collection was carried out through a survey and analysis of the basic and complementary bibliography of the Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology at the Center for Applied Sciences and Education, Campus IV of UFPB, and followed the evaluation parameters used by the Ministry of Education - MEC. The analysis of the Pedagogical Project of the Course - PPC was carried out, through the Integrated System of Academic Activities Management - SIGAA, the CAPES Periodicals Portal and the digital book base called "Minha Biblioteca. Data analysis considered the evaluation indicators of the undergraduate courses used by Sinaes at the time of the on-site evaluation. It was found that the bibliographic collection of the researched course obtained an insufficient concept. The analysis showed the existence of weaknesses in the basic and complementary bibliography, with emphasis on the insufficient number of books, the indication of sold out titles in the market and in a smaller number there were errors in the references. To remedy the deficiencies presented and facilitate the work of teachers and the librarian responsible for the evaluation process, this study proposes a model of bibliography checklist, respecting the MEC evaluation parameters. It was also demonstrated the need for knowledge by the library manager, teachers and librarians of the parameters used in the process of evaluating bibliographic collections and adopting the correct use of the checklist proposed in this research, and thus obtaining a satisfactory evaluative concept. |
