Resumo: | This work analyzes the abortion episode of the girl K., carried out in the city of Recife in August of 2020. This case contained components present in several debates in society, namely: reproductive rights, public health care, the right to privacy, the protection of minors at social risk, the interference of religion and—notably—the impact on social networks and the socio-political consequences arising from these debates held in cyberspace. This dissertation’s general objective is to understand how the cultural industry acts under cyberactivism. Specifically, how cyberactivism contributes to politicizing or depoliticizing the opposing arguments about legal abortion in cases of rape. The methodology used is based on the construction of a comparative content analysis between two Instagram profiles, @direitaoficial and @seremosresistencia. Registration unit words were identified and selected to carry out the content analysis and comparison. An additional method used is the enumeration of the presence or absence of such registration units and interpretation of the content unit. Understanding the issue of legal abortion in Brazil, the cultural industry, and its influence on the legitimacy of the status quo, as well as the analytical reference of the socio-historical context pointed out by dialectical materialism, served as a "background" for a better understanding of the positions relating to the topic dealt with. The results point to a duality between politicization and depoliticization of the themes dealt with, even if these involve political actions, with social engagement of various individual and group actors, whether in social networks or in other activities promoted by them. |
