This Thesis intends to analyze the teaching practices of teacher Hilda de Souza in Sao Bento - PB at School for Girls and School Group Fausto Meira in the period 1948 to 1953. So, we situate in the field of New Cultural History historiographical current that favored an expansion of research sources for the history of education, making stories of life before faded the writing of history as an object of study and analysis. Based on memory usage and oral history as a methodology, that led us to other sources such as a notebook for planning of the biographee. The construction of the Biography of Hilda de Souza allowed us to understand from the development of their teaching practices, historical contexts concerning education in the city of São Bento-PB, in particular, the School for Girls and the School Group Fausto Meira. Such research has enabled aspects silenced of the history of these institutions were evidenced from the memory of this teacher. Thus, this biographical study allowed engage us in political, economic and cultural of the city which we report, since the memory of our biographee consists of various "selves" which led us to the tessitura of the History of Education são-bentense.
