Resumo: | The aim of this study was to develop a netnography through ethnography to understand how some transvestites give meaning to their bodies through performance in and out of Facebook. Thus, understanding the symbolic elements that they use their bodies to form and assist in building their virtual identities. The data presented in this work are the results of a survey conducted through personal interviews and also through the Facebook Messenger during the period January 2015 to April 2016. Although each transvestite can understand how your own body, picture to them can be considered as a tool which facilitates the construction of the female intended to represent. In this context, the gender of transvestite identity is not simply a performance in the sense of theatrical action they choose to act out, what transvestites represent is one or even several "female" that they build using their photographs as self-representation of their identities. |
