Resumo: | The present work aims to study the development of the mutual interactions between a flow of an electrically conductive fluid and an externally applied magnetic field (B0*) in a backward-facing step channel. The input velocity profile is considered fully developed (and will be parabolic when Ha=0) and will be affected by the channel geometry. To show the performance of the present technique, the results are compared critically with those obtained by purely numerical methods, for different values of the parameters that govern them, for information: Reynolds, Hartman and Reynolds numbers, and dimensionless height of the step, in the case of the " backward-facing step". Formulations with fourth-order problems for the velocity field will be presented and, in different chapters, formulations with secondorder eigenvalue problems for the magnetic field, sometimes with a single equation in terms of a magnetic scalar function (), sometimes with two separate problems for the orthogonal components B1 and B2. A comparison between the results obtained shows the best recovery of the boundary conditions associated with the original problem. |
