Resumo: | The cement industry is ruled by three pillars, the reduction of energy consumption, thermal substitution by alternative residues and market competitivity. To achieve good results, it is necessary to invest in technology and science. This dissertation explains how science can contribute to achieving industrial results. The methodology was divided in three steps, two industrial and one laboratory. At the industrial step, four operations were executed, two in the kiln and two in the cement grinding, all operations were recorded, collected and analyzed, making possible to compare the performance with the variation of %SO3 in the flame. In the laboratory step, it was developed a methodology with the mill rings to compare the grinding of clinkers with different sizes of C3S diameters. According to all the obtained data, it was possible to conclude that the sulfur contributes positively to the quality of the clinker. Also, if this high sulfur clinker results in a C3S diameter below 27 μm, there will be a high performance in the cement grinding. |
