Resumo: | Textile dyes degradation using the photocatalysis has received much attention due to increasing environmental contamination. In this study, the compounds g-C3N4, K4Nb6O17.3H2O, the heterostructures g-C3N4/K4Nb6O17(A) and g-C3N4/K4Nb6O17(B) and the physical mixtures g-C3N4/K4Nb6O17(A*) and g-C3N4/K4Nb6O17(B*) were synthesized through a heating strategy and appliedes in the golden yellow dye (RNL) photobleaching. The photocatalysts were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), absorption spectroscopy in the ultravioleta and visible region (UV-vis), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Characterizations results supported the understanding of materials structures and morphologies. When compared to photocatalyst performances, gC3N4/K4Nb6O17(B) showed the best result, with 53% discoloration at pH 6, after 120 min UVC irradiation. The photocatalytic activity was attributed to the interface created between g-C3N4 and K4Nb6O17.3H2O, resulting in eficiente separation and transport of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. In general, photocatalysts have shown promise for discoloration of RNL. |
