Resumo: The history of public policies for yonth is quite recent in the Brazilian context. Projovem Urbano emerged in 2007, in a context of integrated public policies for youth. Its Pedagogical Integrated Project aims an education that reinsert the youngter in school and inserts the working world, providing them opportunities for human development and citizenship. On this way, the study began with the assumption that the Projovem Urbano helps enabling young people to (re) position themselves in their identity processes at the exercise of outcomes, on work experience, in citizen practice and as gender subjects, in order to situate and intervening in their own reality. Aimed to analyze the contributions of Projovem Urbano for the enrolled youth in the program to(re) position themselves on their identity processes as students, workers, citizens and as young men and women. The specific objectives seek to: 1. Place the Projovem Urbano in the public policies intended for youth and reflect upon the program challenges of the program with regard to their effective contribution to youth identity replacement; 2. Grasping pupils perceptions of the youth about the Program’s contributions for their identity and (re) positioning in relationship with the school, with the work’s world exercise of citizenship and as gender’s subjects.; 3. Problematize the extent to which the Projovem Urbano contributes to the (re) placement identity. The theoretical basis took as support authors from, Sociology of Education, Cultural Studies and Public Policy, among others. In order to reach these aims carried out a qualitative study located in the field of Cultural Studies of Education, whose research of field approached to the Grounded Theory. The lifting of material was conducted from January to September 2013, in a Nucleus Program in the city of João Pessoa. The thematic analysis revealed that partially confirm the presupposition: a) With regard to rebuilding the relationship with the school, passing through the program shows what it was (re) positioned by the majority of young people which have rediscovered their identity as a student. b) In view of the world of work, the program contributes to the / young people thereafter have a more critical view of their identity as a worker, however, does not collaborate to its (re) placement in the working world, or at least not to aiming prospects for young people to migrate from the precarious situation in which they are; c) The community (re) meetings, from the group investigated in the case, this was caused by a contingency situation faced by young people in their community, generating the exercise of citizenship that moment and; d) In the (re) positioning as gender’s subjects, the passage through the program indicates a contribution, in particular with respect to the women who became to reflect more critically on the inequalities of their private life and to position themselves in situations of their routine which express such inequalities. It is hoped that this study may contribute to the research field related to youth and education as well as towards the qualification of the Youth Public Policies, so that they can effectively respond to the demands and expectations of those which are addressed – the young people.
