Resumo: | Nowadays, the choir practices have been established as an important music teaching method. These practices are accessible activities which provide the exploration and experience of music content through the use of the voice. Among the various vocal music initiatives in the educational context in Brazil, we highlight the non-profit sector projects, aiming not only the musical development, but also the development of human rights, the access to cultural and material resources as well as the search for social justice. In this context, we search to understand the teaching and learning processes of music, interwoven to the practice of children's choir, specifically contemplating the Project “Educação Musical Através do Canto Coral – um canto em cada canto” (UCCC Project), located in the city of Londrina-PR. In order to reflect and analyse the musical phenomena in the universe of this Project, this essay’s presents results of a research that had as goal to understand concepts, contents and teaching and learning methodologies that characterize the music formation in the UCCC Project, taking in consideration the socio-cultural particularities from the perspective of the subjects involved in this educational proposal. The theoretical framework is linked to the socio-cultural perspective of music education whose teaching and learning processes are understood in its context, space where they are built and put into practice. From the qualitative approach and the completion of an ethnography, we organized the methodological approach that covers the bibliographic and documentary research, participant observation, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and questionnaire. The analysis of the material takes into account the contextualization of the speech with the symbolic universe that permeates the actions of the participants involved in the Project, as well as the values and meanings that express their relationships with the educational activities and the artistic practice developed. The research results, with relation to concepts, show a focused educational approach to human development and the expansion of the musical and cultural universe of the participants. The contents relate to the repertoire, and some criteria guide their choice. As for the methodology used, the research revealed a proposal based on playful learning made possible through orality, imitation, repetition and thinking, in which the educator's role in the teaching of these procedures is of paramount importance for the success of the proposal. While not generalizable, the research results contribute to the unveiling of processes of the teaching and learning of music, favoring important discussions about how this teaching is established through cultural understanding and meanings related to musical practice of a particular group. |
