Resumo: | The National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) suggest that education enables students to develop the body's own domain. Likewise, this document recommends that the student be expressive, to be able to voice their opinions, it becomes critical, aware of the reality that surrounds it. This research aims to discuss how the use of the Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) in school contributes to the critical and creative awakening of the student. Thus, it has become imperative to use as the main theoretical basis of this study the assumptions of two authors: Augusto Boal, creator of the TO, and Paulo Freire. The ideas of these authors have a clear relation to the recommendations of these parameters. Other authors, such as Baraúna (2013), Cassavin (2008) and Desgranges (2011), assists the discussions raised here. To achieve the satisfaction the main objective of the research, analyzed the material produced by the students who participated in a theater workshop at the Municipal School Analice Caldas in the city of João Pessoa-PB, and later by the theater group formed from the workshop. The analyzed material consists of interviews and a theatrical text. After the readings, discussions and analysis, it was found that the TO not only contributed to the critical and creative awakening of the participants, but it took them to know and to seek ways to intervene in the reality that surrounds them. |
