Resumo: | Introduction: The neurobiological functions of childhood language disorder are not well understood. Children with specific language impairment (SLI) are distinguishable from typically developing children primarily in the pace and course of their language development. Therefore, The development of functional language networks explored through the use of electroencephalography (EEG) provide important information on brain activity and constitute a crucial technique for the investigation of the maturation of functional language brain networks. The main objective of this study is to provide a state of knowledge on the investigation of language-related cerebral networks in children with and without Specific Language Disorder with the use of EEG. Method: This systematic review was conducted with a search performed on the following databases: PubMed, EMBASE, LILACS, COCHRANE, Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar only including experimental studies with electroencephalographic techniques on language processing. No restrictions concerning language or publication period. The search identified 367 papers, and 12 articles met the criteria and were appraised for level and quality of evidence. results: Considering the Eventrelated potential, peak wave latency, amplitude, time windows observed in the EEG techniques experiments during the Language processing it will be possible to analyze the event-related potential (ERP). Overall, the articles analyzed are consistent with a robust scientific commitment to understanding brain functioning at the electrophysiological level, not uniformly, during linguistic processing in children with TDL. Due to divergences and some methodological gaps seen in studies on the use of the EEG during linguistic processing in children with SLI, leaving the studies heterogeneous, it was not possible to generalize the findings of the studies. |
