Resumo: | We interrogate the figure of Christ in Spinoza's Theological-Political Treatise and its relationship with the third kind of knowledge, Intuitive Science, in an epistemological perspective. The mapping or history of the mind that the philosopher proposes constitutes an epistemological framework (based on a geometric-mathematical model) under which Spinoza's theory of knowledge is established in his works. This history of the mind is described by an example of fourth proportional. Prophecy is described in the Treatise as knowledge of the first kind, and the figure of Moses as the greatest of prophets. “Hearsay” is to the second mode of perception, just as reason is to intuitive science. We study the description of Christ by the Theological-Political Treatise and how this description indicates an epistemological interpretation, in addition to criticizing the theological and political claims of current interpretations. The figure of Christ is the incognito of the rule of three or the fourth proportional, in the same relation that the prophecy (Moses) is to the imagination. |
