This production is the result of a case study on the situation of the professors‟ formation in Infantile Education and its practices in a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), SOS-Kinderdorf Internacional - Paraíba. Throughout this production we seek for the construction of the educators‟ identity, looking for to enclose the conferred importance of the professionalizing dimension. The process of professors‟ formation was discuss focusing on the reality of their daily practices. Historically, the world of the work led to the necessity of a space that could receive the infants, in which the day-care center, initially, was seen as space of social assistance; little by little passing to the scope of the education it gained space and got stronger in the National Politics. It‟s also reflected in this study the insufficience of the access to the high quality institutions, the access to the educators‟ formation, on the other hand it detaches the work that comes being carried through in the SOS-Kinderdorf Internacional -Paraíba in relation to the education of boys and girls, inhabitants of the neighbourhood, in the search for the stimulation to the independent development of its social relations.
