Resumo: | Although the register of the lexicon is an attempt to give stability to the senses, the dictionaries contain entries produced in different emergency conditions, which cause them to suffer certain displacements in the course of historical time. In this sense, this dissertation proposes an archaeological analysis of the baiano, paraíba and sertanejo entries in dictionaries from different times, in order to investigate their meaning effects over time and to follow the construction of their truths about the northeastern identity from one statement to another, with its continuities and discontinuities within the archive. Therefore, we analyze the discourse on northeastern identity (re)produced in Brazilian Portuguese dictionaries, seeking the discursive memories that support these discourses materialized by the entries. In order to achieve the aforementioned objectives, our work consisted of cataloging the entries in question at different times, using dictionaries from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries (before the formation of the Northeast, after it and currently). With this, we demonstrate that the baiano entry is negatively described in its relationship with work; that paraíba brings together sayings that point from the sense of a simple geographical belonging to a derogatory discourse on the social position of the northeastern and the femininity of the northeastern; while the sertanejo is constructed in opposition to the city, to the literate culture, and to good manners. We had as theoretical support the Discourse Analysis of the French line from the reflections of Michel Foucault, especially with regard to his archaeological method of analysis and the notions of enunciation, archive and truth. We will also make a theoretical articulation with the research field of Cultural Studies, considering that the notion of identity will also be central in our work. |
