Resumo: The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception of the technical-administrative servants of the Medical Sciences Center (CCM) of the Federal University of Paraíba about the training actions developed by the Dean of People Management, regarding training courses. To this end, we sought to: know the ways of managing these processes at UFPB; to delineate the profile of the civil servants in the CCM who have participated in the training courses, as well as to know what makes them participate in these training processes. The constant technological and social changes and administrative reforms demand the continuous development of civil servants in public organizations. However, it is necessary to question what skills and learning are being valued within the training policies of the Federal Institutions of Higher Education and to what extent the courses offered meet the interests of these subjects. It was a research with a mixed focus - qualitative and quantitative. Data collection occurred through bibliographic, documentary and electronic research and the application of questionnaires, with 43 technical and administrative staff from CCM. Documents that govern the national policy for technical and administrative qualification were analyzed, as well as the documents, within UFPB, that deal with the qualification of these subjects, to investigate how the qualification process of the servers materializes.
