Resumo: | In Brazil, it is observed that the debates about the relations between politics and religion reveals the influence that the latter exerts on the first in election periods, when relations are intensified in order to, for example, mobilize votes in favor of candidates for public office as well as reconfigured the dynamics of public space at different times in which the african-brazilian religions were placed in the political arena, fomenting the discussion in between various social actors. In Paraíba, this question takes shape when the african-brazilian religions are used to generate controversy in the political field, specifically with respect the religious identity of candidate and religious minorities. As well as the mobilization of religious adherents against these onslaughts of political actors in the public space during election periods. From this, this research aims to analyze the relationship between politics and african-brazilian religions in the Paraíba in electoral disputes in 1965/1966, 2010 and 2014, from a historical and anthropological perspective. This research is characterized as documental, with a qualitative approach, using journals local of the years 1965/1966 and 1962 and online media publications about the electoral disputes in 2010 and 2014 in Paraíba. It was used as data collection technique: the semi-structured interview. Part is mainly on the assumption that the rapprochement between the african-brazilian religions in Paraíba and politics in partisan political disputes tend to raise tensions between the two in Paraíba context of 1965/1966, 2010 and 2014; and although the pathways by which sets the connections between politics and african-brazilian religions in Paraíba these periods start from speeches that are built in election periods. The relations established between the two are marked by clashes in which these religions become part of the political discourse of the candidates, sometimes to highlight their positions before them, sometimes to incite controversy among the candidates, or to mobilize voters with religious issues, among others. The fact is that afro-brazilian religions are placed in the "terreiro" of the politics to incite the positioning of several social actors in the public space of Paraíba, at the same time, they respond to the controversies in which they were placed. |
