Resumo: | This Thesis is composed of three independent essays on the theory of endogenous growth, seeking to estimate the function of producing Romer-Jones ideas incorporating other important variables in contemporary economics. The first essay investigates the interactions between economic growth and innovation for a group of selected OECD countries, whose method of analysis is the VAR panel. The objective of the second essay focuses on the issue of international diffusion of technology, seeking to estimate the function of producing ideas through the Generalized Method of Moments, including important variables such as FDI, R&D expenses and technological gao. The third essay aims to estimate the same function and using the same method, but considering the role of political and economic institutions in the innovation process. Although independent, the three tests complement each other in terms of robustness, since different proxies and databases were used for similar variables. |
