Saúde mental e trabalho: estratégias dos motoristas de ônibus frente à insegurança

Resumo: The present study is grounded in a knowledge field that approaches the relation between mental health and work, and aimed to analyze the urban bus drivers‟ work and the main strategies used by them ones in a situation of insecurity when are working. According to data published by Brazilian media, the amount of assaults to urban buses has been increasing significantly lately. What reveals the debates importance, but above all, the necessity of more studies about this thematic. From the workers‟ point of view, intended it to characterize the bus driver activity as regards their working conditions, describe those ones and identify what they think on the context of insecurity of urban public transport. Assumed it that the difficult work conditions like the increase of urban violence, contributes to the bus drivers exercise their activities under the lash of fear. In this sense, it was accomplished a study case with a group composed by 16 bus drivers employed in one of six public transport companies of João Pessoa/PB. The research process included the documental analyses, observations and semi-structured interviews with each participant. After the data collection and the transcription, through the content analyses, was procedure the corpus systematization, categorized by thematic axes, based on the model proposed by Bardin (2002). The Psychodynamic and Fracophonic Ergonomics was used as theoretical and methodological support was used in order to identify the mobilization of the affects, suffering and of pleasure resulting of the actual work, in other words, the developed activities. Among the main findings, noticed it that the drivers that participated of these research are rather vulnerable and insecure front of the precarious working conditions. That feeling is reinforced once the contractor companies neglected the employs‟ rights, carrying out a severe control on the activities; demand the fulfillment of stipulated schedules and a satisfactory attendance to users, disregarding all the adverse work situations of those professionals. Accordingly the statements, the psychical suffering become visible by the following indicator: ill-being, constantly body pain and physical and mental wastage. Observed it that the professional are aware of the great responsibility that they have driving, in many cases, a collective vehicle which do not present suitable conditions to transit appropriately. Those situations are faced through individual and collective strategies. Aimed it to contribute to the recognition of that professional category and identification of working conditions lived by them. Those findings indicated that the companies should implement actions concerning the workers‟ security, what will contribute to improve the quality of the services rendered to population.
