Resumo: | This work presents the optimum control design for simultaneous determination of control parameters associated with voltage regulation and increased damping of the oscillations in the synchronous generator using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique with modifications proposals. In this work it is possible to verify in detail how to use the proposed algorithm for efficient research of the best parameters of the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and the Power System Stabilizer (PSS) for an Infinite Bus Machine System (SMIB) and Anderson’s 9-Bus system. The proposed modifications in classical PSO are represented by changes in the calculation of the inertia factor of the algorithm. The values found were compared with the parameters obtained using conventional tuning techniques, based on linearized differential equation models and also with classical PSO technique. For the analysis of the performance of the controls, an objective function based on the system time response was used. Analysis of the simulation results with the proposed method showed that the modifications performed provided a better performance of the algorithm, standing out for its simplicity, stable convergence characteristic and fast adjustment of the parameters of the AVR and PSS optimal controller. |
