Resumo: Corn is one of the most studied cultures around the world because of its importance in human and animal nutrition. In the search for high seed quality standard, the phase of processing is configured as an important step in the production process of the same. Thus the aim of this work was to evaluate the germination and vigor of maize cv. BR-5011 Sertanejo during the beneficiation process. The experiment was conducted at Seed Analysis Laboratory of the Center for Agricultural Sciences, Federal University of Paraíba, for characterization of damage in seeds as a function of processing. The evaluation of the quality of the seeds was performed using the following tests: water content, germination and vigor (first count and the speed of germination and field emergence, field emergence, length and seedling dry weight, cold test accelerated aging, electrical conductivity and germination at low temperature). The experimental design was completely randomized, with the exception of emergency tests, for which we adopted the design of randomized blocks. Corn seeds cv. BR-5011 Sertanejo. Physiological best quality are those obtained in the machine and air screen as well as the gravity separator and the screens 20, 22 and 24 reduces the germination and vigor.
