Resumo: The present research presents information management (GI) in the Integrated System of Libraries of the State University of Paraíba (SIB / UEPB), considering that the GI allows a better use of the information resources existing in the information units, besides promoting changes functional and human resources structures. The general objective is to analyze the GI process in the Integrated System of Libraries of the State University of Paraíba. As specific objectives, we sought to identify the actions and practices of GI according to the model proposed by Choo (2006), following the six categories that contemplate the needs, search and use of information. It is an exploratory and descriptive research, using the qualitative method and as a research strategy the field study. As for the data collection instruments, semi-structured interviews were used for all the subjects of the research, except for the category of students, who used semi-structured questionnaires. The results revealed that there is information management that acts in a deficit way in the Integrated System of Libraries of the State University of Paraíba. Failures are perceived in all the phases that compose the informational cycle, which means that there is no structured planning for information management in this context. This, therefore, compromises the access and use of information by its users. Finally, these results evidenced the need to implement a professionally structured information management in this system, thus contributing to a better use of information resources available in libraries, in order to meet the information needs of its users, and, consequently, the use of information to guide their actions and decision-making
