Resumo: This study aims to discuss the Early Childhood Education and Infrastructure of institutions for the care of young children from the implementation of the Proinfância Program in João Pessoa (PB). The research aims to analyze the Proinfância Program and its developments, as a public policy of infrastructure and access, and the process of implementation of the Program in Early Childhood Education in the Municipal School of João Pessoa (PB). The methodological approach of this study is shaped by the qualitative research of documental character, based on dialectical methodological bases, because it uses the contributions of historical and dialectical materialism to better understand and analyze the object of study. For the development of the research, a survey of theoretical references and public policies was conducted, which supported the analysis of the Proinfância Program and its consequences. Regarding the results, we infer that Proinfância had a strong influence on the expansion process of Early Childhood Education in João Pessoa (PB), from the year 2014. The data surveyed reveal advances and setbacks in the face of the implementation of this infrastructure policy, since the At the same time that the educational expansion becomes a reality from the built day care centers, the setbacks can be seen from the data that quantify the number of works that were canceled and paralyzed in the municipality, which represent a higher quantity than the works that have been realized.
