Resumo: | Introduction: actively aging becomes a challenge in Brazil, knowledge of the level of functional capacity is a health indicator, suggested as a mechanism for interdisciplinary research in different regions of the country, since the aging process is multisystemic. Objectives: verify the evidence about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the functional status of the elderly, through a scoping review; identify the functional status of the elderly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and create a video with directions on home exercises for the elderly. Method: this is a methodological study of the construction of an audiovisual information resource, based on scientific evidence, structured in three stages. The first stage was a scoping review, the second a descriptive field research, with a quantitative approach with elderly people, aged 60 years and over and the third stage was composed by the elaboration of the video with directions on home exercises for old people. Results: in the first stage it was evidenced in the studies that age and the degree of is related to the prognosis, among the instruments that measured the global functionality of the elderly, the use of the Barthel Index, the Katz Scale and the Clinical Frailty Scale stood out and that the restriction measures contributed to the increase in sedentary behavior in the oldest old, as well as to a reduction in physical mobility and in the practice of ADLs. In the second stage, the research data showed that the elderly people who participated in the study presented themselves as frail or at risk of frailty, with a predominance of impaired mobility, mood swings and negative self-perception of health, in addition to revealing a sedentary behavior in this population, since more than half did not practice regular physical activity in their daily routine. Conclusion: the product is in the field of gerontotechnology which, through a multimedia resource, a video with directions on home exercises will contribute to maintaining mobility, balance and functional capacity of elderly people who attend the physiotherapy service, helping this population, as well as caregivers and family members in facing the challenges arising from the aging process. |
