Resumo: The literary work is not a physical object that can be manipulated, not for the Theory of the Aesthetic Effect, proposed by Wolfgang Iser (1996, 1999ª). Within the scope of this theory, the work consists of a virtual realization, of which the reader and the literary text are part. Guided by the strategies of the textual structure, the reader feels the aesthetic effects of the work, and immerses himself in a process of constitution of senses and meanings. However, in addition to the structure of the text, there is also the psychic makeup of the reader – not foreseen by the theory of the aesthetic effect –, which operates, in the Laplanchean sense of the term, in the translation of enigmatic messages originating from the fundamental anthropological situation, thought of in a sexual and communicational dimension, which reverberates in the act of reading. Faced with the strategies of the text and the psyche of the reader, how is the production of meaning and meaning of na illustrated fictional narrative, permeated by the theme of sexual abuse? The questioning led to the Mapping of the Aesthetic Experience and the psychic mapping of a real reader – the author of the research –, with a view to contributing to literary criticism and to the teaching of literature. In addition, we sought to: a) present a metatheoretical study between the aesthetic effect theory (TEE) and the generalized seduction theory (TSG); b) map the reading of Leila’s book based on the TEE and TSG; c) analyze the aesthetic effects visually not anchored by the fictional text; d) identify the function assumed by the images during Leila’s reading; and e) discuss the interference of personal experiences in the corpus translation process, in a self-translation exercise (LAPLANCHE, 1989). The methodology for carrying out the work was structured by three approaches: descriptive, explanatory and autobiographical. With the proposed and tried complement of including the semantics of the TSG to the MAPEE, it was noticed that this is placed as a metatheoretical code that allows to produce and receive particular translations of real readers.
