Resumo: The present work evaluates the use of vehicular natural gas with different proportions of biodiesel in order to obtain the correct proportion of use. The correct proportion is selected based on the best performance and the greatest reduction in pollutant emissions. The levels of pollutant emissions, opacity, torque, power and fuel consumption tested in a MWM 4.07 TCE engine are evaluated. This engine has an electronic injection system, which was adapted in the engine and emissions testing laboratory - UFPB. The adaptation aims to reduce the biodiesel injection time per cycle and compensate with CNG injection. In this way it was possible to use CNG and Biodiesel. In the combustion of natural gas and Biodiesel, Biodiesel has the function of producing the ignition of natural gas, making it possible to replace a high percentage of Biodiesel in the mixture. In such a way it is possible to have CNG as the main fuel and biodiesel as an ignitor. The evaluation of the data obtained in dynamometric tests and pollutant emissions, and exhaust gas opacity are used to determine which is the best proportion of fuel use. For a better analysis of the results, graphs and tables were prepared containing information on torque, power, consumption and emissions of the main pollutants. These results are from the Biodiesel mixtures in the proportions of B10, B20 and B50 and also when applied together with CNG. It is possible to verify a variation of power and torque with the addition of biodiesel in the mixtures as well as with the use in conjunction with CNG. The effect of varying the percentage of biodiesel and its application together with CNG in relation to consumption is also analyzed. An analysis was also made for the specific consumption of the application of Biodiesel and Biodiesel in conjunction with CNG. Regarding gas emissions, the following were analyzed: CO, O2, CO2, HC, NOx and opacity.
