Resumo: Technological advances in digital signal processors have led to the implementation of more advanced control schemes within power electronics. Predictive control, due to the large amount of calculations required in its implementation, has benefited from this modernization, emerging as an alternative in the search for better performance of power converter systems in terms of efficiency and power quality. In this work, two predictive control strategies are employed in the current control of a three-phase semicontrolled AC-DC converter and a single-phase multilevel DC-AC converter. The first strategy, FCSMPC (Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control), makes the current prediction from the switching state vectors so that from a cost function, the vector that minimizes this function is chosen. The second, M2PC (Modulated Model Predictive Control), uses the same methodology, but adding a modulation stage to the control scheme, which allows the setting of the switching frequency and improvement in system performance in terms of power quality. The verification of the functioning and validation of the proposed systems are carried out based on simulation and experimental results and the performance of the predictive control techniques is evaluated through comparison with classic control techniques.
