Resumo: History teaching has become an important research object for many historians in the past few years. The studies in this field are part of a big process of reformulation in the Brazilian education which also coincide and mix with some political, economical and social changes which have largely been discussed since the late 70´s, starting with the educational policy criticism developed during the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985). Taking this changing scenery, this present research has had the purpose to analyze the process of formulation of the Pedagogical Project of the Technical High School Integrated courses (Projeto Pedagógico dos Cursos Técnicos Integrados ao Ensino Médio (PPC)) from the Federal Institute of Science, Education and Technology from Paraíba – IFPB (Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba IFPB) campus João Pessoa, taking into consideration the historical knowledge that was present in its building. The new professional educational regulation that came from the 5.154/2004 decree, allowed only the rearticulating between the Technical High School Education and the High School itself apart from the 2.208/1997 decree, but it has not defined which way it should go to make integration effective, remaining this decision taking under each Federal Institute assured by the law.( Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional (LDBEN, nº 9.394/1996). This has ensured the school´s autonomy regarding the courses planning and offering. Between the years 2004 and 2006 IFPB/Campus João Pessoa decided to extinguish High School (EM) and in its place it was developed an Integrated High School (EMI) proposal. This is an educational proposal that aimed to overcome the historical school´s role conflict existing between making real citizens or preparing them for the production process. Taking the studies about the curriculum while it is pre-active or in a regulation dimension as reference, as well as the philosophical and epistemicological foundations of an EMI proposal, this research has identified multiple factors involved in this process, such as the History teachers and pedagogues, highlighting the difficulties faced while elaborating a Pedagogical Project in which the power relationships existing in this professional educational Institute, identified by the hegemony of the technical-scientific knowledge, would not show any alteration in the History teaching proposal related to what had been done previously in High School teaching. In this aspect, the planning of an Integrated High School project has not set the possibility of integration between the specific competences and abilities of the History teaching, with the structuring concepts of an EMI proposal which aimed for an indissociability among the several branches of knowledge inserted in a teaching proposal, having the work, the science and the technology as axes of the curricular integration.
