Global Tourism employs more than 1 billion people on Earth and it constitutes one of the most important activities for the creation of jobs and income generation. In Brazil, about 8,8 million people are found occupied on this activity. Since the 80s decade, many public politics of fomenting the tourism had been implemented. In this context, the city of João Pessoa-PB was inserted as a touristic destiny between the northeast Capitals at the tourism of sun and the sea. The construction of the Center of Conventions on the Touristic District, localized in the Costa do Sol district, it came to enlarge the participation of business and events tourism. The objective of this essay was to analyze the discourses of touristification produced by the state managers whose justify the construction of equipment and infrastructure in the south portion of the city. From the Semiolinguistics Analysis, it was possible to verify how the memory discursive the pre-built about the city, for example, “green city”, “extreme eastern”, “where the sun rises first”, semiotizing the world and constitute of social representations explored by the printed media and by touristic marketing. It enabled comprehend how the hegemonic agents anchor the State its necessities of investments on infrastructure, while the managers justify by meanings of their statements to generate employment, income, development, and progress for the city. The realization of SD (Speech Analysis) it was from a corpus of documents whose survey has occurred on the Newspaper library of the Home Foundation of Mr. José Américo, in the library of PBTUR, besides the electronic sites of SECOM and the Journal The Union.
