The analysis and interpretation of the research data are based on the contributions of Carol Kuhlthau's (1991) model of search behavior and use of information. The results reveal a variety of approaches adopted by elderly people in the search for information, which, even in the face of difficulties, are able to identify their informational needs, and thus seek, use and share information and experiences with colleagues and professionals in their daily lives. It is concluded that the analysis of the informational behavior of the elderly in the context of the pandemic is extremely relevant to expand the understanding of how the pandemic affected and generated emerging challenges and opportunities in this scenario, given the possibilities of promoting the quality of life of elderly people, considering that they live in a long-term care institution. And also, that the IC and its researchers strengthen reflections on the responsibility and social function that fall on their shoulders. |
