Resumo: | Research related to university students' mental health has grown in recent years and has become an important topic for investigation and analysis due to the consequences that these illnesses trigger on university life and, therefore, on the institution. Mental suffering in higher education affects an increasing number of students, influencing the transition phase to adulthood, full of responsibilities, duties and requirements for professional training, reaching the academic performance of the most vulnerable in the psychological aspects that the university context provides, urging us to seek the causes of mental suffering and the solution that allows students in their vulnerabilities to better face the challenges and adapt to academic life. From this perspective, the main objective of the research has been defined to analyze the disorders related to mental health presented by university students, residents of the University Residence attended at CRAS, and their relationship with their academic trajectory in UFPB courses. We used the exploratory-descriptive method from the survey of bibliographic and documentary sources and analysis of the applied questionnaires, having as a methodological reference the Content Analysis (Bardin, 2010). We identified with this study that there are vulnerabilities associated with the mental health of student-residents who seek CRAS, which promote suffering that weakens the performance and consequently the academic trajectory of students. It was observed that the psychiatric care provided by CRAS promotes a positive response and improves the mental well-being of those accompanied by professionals. As a product of this dissertation, general elements were proposed that would facilitate the implementation and development of a multiprofessional action program, involving several actors in the rescue of academic mental health and the creation of a booklet of good practices aimed students of the University Residence, according to the elements pointed out in the research. |
