Resumo: | Introduction: The dependent elderly population often faces challenges in performing daily activities at home, requiring assistance with crucial tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Objective: To create an educational video for nursing care during bathing of dependent elderly individuals at home. Method: The research was conducted in two stages. In the first stage, a scoping review was conducted following the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute Collaboration. Searches were performed in nine databases, as well as gray literature sources. The Rayyan software was used for study selection by two reviewers, with a third reviewer for final validation. In the second stage, a methodological study was developed involving the construction and validation of an educational video. Expert judges were selected according to criteria to assess the clarity, objectivity, relevance, and general aspects of the video's content using the Content Validity Ratio index. The study obtained approval from the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Paraíba. Results: Twenty-four studies were selected. The results of the studies were processed using the IRAMUTEQ software (Interface de R pour les analyses multidimensionnelles de textes et de questionnaires), which yielded five categories: Planning actions before and after bathing; Steps and sequence for performing personal hygiene; Care for aging skin; Care during bed baths; and Care during showering with assistance. Regarding bathing provisions, communication, considering the elderly person's bathing preferences while addressing conflicts, safety, comfort, privacy, planning necessary materials and actions, attention to water temperature and environment, cleaning and tidying the bed, as well as hygiene practices like shaving and nail trimming, were highlighted. The results of the scoping review served as a theoretical framework for the construction of a storyboard, which, after obtaining informed consent via Google Forms, was sent via email to a panel of 13 expert judges in the field. These judges assessed the clarity, theoretical relevance, and practical pertinence of the 18 storyboard scenes using the Content Validity Ratio index. The video's construction provided detailed guidance on procedures and materials for bathing, skin care, personal and oral hygiene, as well as specific considerations for bed baths and showers. Conclusion: Essential care during bathing for dependent elderly individuals includes actions before, during, and after bathing, specific care for aging skin, and adequate planning. The individuality of the elderly person and the caregiver is crucial, highlighting the importance of nursing professionals' guidance. The evaluation by the 13 judges confirmed the 18 storyboard scenes through the analysis of the Content Validity Ratio, which ranged from 0.538 to 1.00 for all three indicators: clarity, theoretical relevance, and practical pertinence. The video content, presented in action/animation format, emphasizes the importance of interaction between the nurse, the family caregiver, and the dependent elderly person, aiming to provide didactic and informative guidance on essential bathing care. |
