Resumo: | The postpartum period has configured the higher risk of death for millions of babies in developing countries due to gaps in health care delivered in primary care. Objective: To develop and validate a tool for home visits to newborns in the First Week Integral Health in Primary Health Care. Method: This is a methodological study conducted in three phases: identification of empirical indicators, realized by bibliometric reviewing of current literature and key national and international policies and guidelines concerning about newborn health; content validation by 12 expert judges analysis considering the concordance index ( greater than or equal to 0.80) as to the permanence of an item on the instrument, followed by Cronbach's alpha confiability test; semantic analysis, with the intent to investigate whether the instrument is understandable to health professionals who will use it. Results: it was possible the isolation of 568 empirical indicators from national and international manuals, and 625 indicators were identified from the scientific literature over the past decade. No instrument component item had Concordance Index less than 80% after expert analysis. Cronbach's Alpha confiability test resulted in a total of 0,908 featuring adequate internal validation for the instrument. The semantic analysis found that there was no difficulty in understanding the items. Conclusion: It is believed that this instrument has the potential to improve the relationship between work and family of the newborn, assist in identifying risk factors and guide assistance aimed at reducing neonatal mortality. |
