Resumo: | The intense information exposure experienced nowadays can be responsible for causing various problems to society, whether of a health, social or psychological nature, such as informational anxiety, resulting from immediacy or the consumption of content of a dubious nature. It considers the scenario of public educational institutions needing to guarantee reliable and safe information that brings quality of life to its users. The main objective of the research is to verify the management initiatives and policies of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) related to channels and sources of information made available and from the perspective of students of the Psychology Course, avoiding information anxiety at the Federal University of Pernambuco. Pernambuco. The secondary objectives are to demonstrate the institution's social responsibility through the management and information policy for a healthy and efficient environment for users; Infer the existence of useful information to meet the informational needs of the actors; Identify the (in)existence of information anxiety; and to characterize the effects of information anxiety in UFPE students from the 5th period of the Psychology Course. It adopts a strategic, qualitative basic research, in which it uses Content Analysis by Laurence Bardin to treat the collected results. The literature on Information Management, Social Responsibility and Informational Anxiety makes it possible to expand knowledge and assess whether the themes are part of the institutional culture and what contributions it offers. We found the existence of anxiety in the academic environment for several reasons, including the informational issues indicated in the data analysis, with the presence of several symptoms of anxiety disorder, one of the main indications being cognitive symptoms among students, such as impatience and frustration. Thus, it concludes that the educational institution can do more for its community as long as it adopts an organizational culture with management and information policies that seek to understand the informational needs of users, combating information anxiety |
