Resumo: In the context of the shift from an industrial society to an information and knowledge society, it is important to understand the world in the process of globalization and the technologies that occur through economic relations. This dissertation discusses the importance of information in society, particularly in the context of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which are undergoing significant transformations globally. It also discusses the role of libraries in these institutions, as they are crucial to promoting social inclusion and managing institutional results. Libraries in Federal Education Institutes (IFES) are seen as strategic management systems that respond to the demands of education in functional and operational aspects. With this in mind, the general objective of this dissertation is to analyze the management of material and information resources (human, technological and material resources) as an application method for the Nilo Peçanha Library, João Pessoa Campus. The specific objectives focus on identifying the material and informational resources understood as (human, technological and material resources) existing in the Nilo Peçanha Library, João Pessoa Campus; characterizing the elements of the organizational structure, the implementation or evaluation of existing structures with regard to study space, lighting, environment and space. Propose an information and material management guide applicable to the library. This research is of an applied nature, as it presents results regarding the situation of the public professional and technological education library in João Pessoa, in relation to strengthening resource management. Methodologically, this study is characterized as qualitative, exploratory and field research, with descriptive analysis. The research instrument adopted was systematic observation/analysis and the application of a checklist with a field for observations. In order to meet the study's objectives, it was found that within the processes observed, the material and information resources in the library context consider the effective integration of human, technological and material resources. The points verified in the analysis of resources with regard to the elements of the organizational structure, the implementation or evaluation of existing structures with regard to study space, lighting, environment and space. Thus, when describing the elements of the structure, it was found in the item present in the library that these elements meet the needs of users and the objectives of the institution. The product proposed following these results makes it possible to improve the management of material resources and information resources, as evidenced by the various potentialities of the resources (human, technological and material).
