Resumo: | The modern pesticides have emerged in the mid-nineteenth century, with the aim of promoting the control of pests in the growing areas around the world. The modernization and growth of knowledge about chemistry with the development of more productive varieties of plants in the green revolution resulted in a considerable increase in crop yields, however, this combination will eventually cause a host of other problems in the social, economic and environmental not expected until then as the poisoning people and animals, loss of biodiversity, drastic changes in ecosystems and immeasurable contamination due to lack of knowledge about the consequence of using these products. Currently, the search for new technologies, try to remedy the problems caused by pesticides and formulation of new products that will provide greater efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with problems related to crops worldwide, but at the same time is less damaging to the environment and man. Given this new paradigm, this study aimed to test the potential of chitosan as a fungicide and bactericide to replace pesticides. |
