Resumo: | This thesis aims to investigate the Domestic Child Labour – DCL in the scope of the city of João Pessoa – Paraíba. In this opportunity, its emphasized that DCL is dismembered in four types: “paid DCL”; “Helping hands”, which is divided in the modalities “Helping hands in the house of third parts” and “Helping hands in its own house”; and “socialization DCL”. Independent of the category, its presumed the empiric premise that the theme presents a gender aspect, that is, afflict girls in majority. This premise is founded in gender studies about the construction and naturalization of social roles appropriated to men and women. According to this theory, the housework is socially and psychologically ascribed to woman as her essential duty, so the approximation to housework begins during the childhood as a kind of element of feminine identity. This research, therefore, starts with an theorist study related to the sexual division of labor and the gender social roles; proceeds with the exam of the pertinent international normative (particularly originated from ILO, UN and OAS) and national one; and finishes with the confront between the statistics obtained by official institutes and the data collection on the Judiciary and the Public Ministry with local competence. This research supported the premise that the domestic child labor corresponds to a violation of the rights of female children and adolescents predominantly, and confirmed the hypothesis that the CDL that takes place in the city of João Pessoa is an invisible problem to the society and to the protection net. |
