Resumo: This work is a study of the terminology used in the production of “Pará-nut”, in the municipality of Oriximiná-PA. It aims to develop, based on the theoretical and methodological procedures Socioterminology, according to Gaudin (1993) and Faulstich (1995a, 1995b, 2001, 2006, 2010, 2012), a socioterminológico glossary of this activity, from the oral discourse of professionals in this area. The choice of this theme is justified by the fact that the “Pará-nut” a product of great potential for socioeconomic exploitation in the State of Pará, responsible for maintaining thousands of families who survive this activity in the Amazon. Data collection was carried out on site, and the corpus consists of 29 interviews. For the organization of the corpus were used computational tools of WordSmith Tools and Lexique Pro software, enabling a reliable result to this terminological description. The glossary consists of 496 terms, in six semantic fields: ecology of the species, extractive practices, equipment and materials, chestnut Denominations, industrial processing and marketing. We hope this socioterminológico work, organize and disseminate expertise, encourages all interested in this field.
