Resumo: This research, in particular, responds to the demand for implementing entrepreneurial actions in the area of nursing, which contribute to the qualification of comprehensive care for maternal and child health. The focus of this research is the work of nursing professionals in pediatric preoperative units, with a view to providing qualified care for children who are preparing for surgery and their families. The objective of this work was to develop a playful video as a tool to support the nursing team in pediatric pre-surgery from the identification of the challenges faced by professionals in the care of children and their families, identified through an integrative review of literature. Methodological course: The construction of the integrative literature review went through the following phases: (1) elaboration of the guiding question; (2) literature search (using inclusion and exclusion criteria); (3) data collection (through instruments); (4) critical analysis of included studies; (5) discussion of the results (BARDIN, 2010). The elaboration of the guiding question was based on the PICo search strategy. The strategy has the following components: population; phenomenon of interest; context. The bibliographic search was carried out in the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), between December 2021 and January 2022, using the descriptors: hospitalized child AND preoperative period AND pediatric nursing. The problem question to be answered, in this narrative review, was: what are the challenges faced by professionals who make up nursing teams regarding the reception of children in the pediatric preoperative period? Based on the evidence found in the integrative literature review, the production of the playful video began. The playful video “Davi X Dodói” was developed in three phases: pre-production, production and post-production of the video (MUANIS, 2014), which had the participation of a multidisciplinary team (researcher nurse, a professional from the Publicity and Propaganda, a journalist, a student of the design course (all from UFN). Results: The performance of nursing professionals in the pediatric preoperative period lacks improvements, both in interpersonal relationships, as well as in structural and environmental ones. The main challenge reported in the researched literature refers to the accumulation of tasks, which makes it difficult, or even prevents, the realization of an effective reception of the child patient and his family. Given the scarcity of time and resources, the literature recommends the adoption of playful strategies with the objective of providing resolute care and well-being to children in preoperative situations and their families. In order to contribute to overcoming the challenges identified in the literature, the playful video, in animation format, Davi X Dodói was developed. Final considerations: The performance of the nursing professional, in the pediatric preoperative period, lacks improvements both with regard to the professionals' aptitude for the management of playful experiences and the relational, structural and environmental challenges. Thus, guidelines regarding the surgical procedure adapted to the level of understanding of its recipient, through technological products suitable for child care, favors overcoming certain difficulties faced during the pediatric preoperative process. Technological Product: Playful video, in animation format, Davi x Dodói. The animation can be widely replicated, reaching national territorial coverage. In addition to helping to overcome the challenges described in the literature, it has the potential to have a high impact, based on the prediction of a permanent change in the work process of the teams that care for children in the preoperative period and their families.
