Resumo: Introduction: the hospitalization of the child is one of the major events causing discomfort for the family. Method: an exploratory and descriptive study of a qualitative approach carried out with family members / caregivers of children admitted to a Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of a University Hopital in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Results: two articles emerged as results of this study. Produced product: The final product generated was an informative booklet that could be made available online and printed, with a welcoming and directed look at family / caregivers of children admitted to the Pediatric ICU of the Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria. The booklet presents a descriptive, self-explanatory approach and contemplates the main reception strategies that were identified in the relatives / caregivers of hospitalized children.
