Resumo: During pregnancy, women go through transformations in their body, as well as in their mind. After giving birth, they face the puerperal period marked by changes in their lives, given the arrival of a new being under their responsibility. Thus, this period is marked by fear, anguish, doubts and desires which require assistance from basic health care, as this period is marked by the history of development of postpartum depression. Justification: In most cases, attention to women is forgotten, due to greater concern for newborns, showing that PPD is neglected in perinatal and maternal and child care. Postpartum women who carry out the consultation receive guidance on clinical aspects, such as breastfeeding and contraception, from basic health care. This context directly impacts public health, which is why our research becomes relevant in the analysis of cases of early detection of women with PPD, since new policies have been implemented aimed at Postpartum Depression, and this subject must be known of primary health care professionals. Objectives: To carry out an integrative review of the literature to identify the best practices and existing protocols for the early identification of postpartum depressive symptoms. Based on the evidence, develop an informative booklet aimed at primary care nursing teams for early identification of depressive symptoms in the postpartum period. Methodology: For the methodological approach of the integrative literature review, searches were carried out in the following databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and PubMed. The following descriptors were chosen: “Postpartum Depression”, “Prenatal Care”, “Protocol” and “Nursing”. The search for data took place from October 2023 to January 2024, and the selection of articles to compose the research in the context of publication in the last five years. Results: The research results verify the need to talk about the conditions that allow the early diagnosis of women with depressive symptoms. They are presented in the format of two manuscripts: the first entitled, “Use of nursing care protocols to screen for postpartum depression: an integrative review of the literature”, in which the research was carried out in order to support the technological product. The second manuscript entitled “Educational booklet for the early identification of depressive symptoms in the perinatal period”, covers the development of technical production. Final Considerations: The main objective of the study was achieved, an informative booklet was created to raise awareness among health professionals, mainly Primary Care nurses. It is worth noting that the study presented some specific limitations, such as the low number of studies that address the theme developed in the work, mainly in relation to early monitoring of disorders in the perinatal period by Primary Care professionals, here emphasized on depression post childbirth; however, the importance of carrying out further studies that increasingly provide more information emerges from this. Product and its applicability: Health educational booklet, addressing the symptoms of postpartum depression for referring women for possible early diagnosis. The booklet was made available to all Family Health Strategy units in a municipality on the western border of Rio Grande do Sul, through printed copies. The nature of the educational booklet is a technical product, according to Qualis Technical Production of the Coordination for the Improvement of Level Personnel (CAPES), item 2, teaching materialT1=100 points. This classification covers support product – support for didactic purposes in mediating teaching and learning processes in different educational contexts; teaching material (games, manuals, booklets); articles in bulletins technical magazines, instructional teaching material with multimedia; educational portal.
