A MODELAGEM MATEMÁTICA PARA O ESTUDO DE FUNÇÕES NO CONTEXTO DA EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL

Resumo: | This dissertation presents results from a research carried through with a group of students of eighth grade of Basic Education of a public school of the city of São Gabriel, RS. In this study it was considered to analyze the contributions of the Mathematical Modeling for the study of functions, while the subject explored: was Plantation of Eucaliptos . The research was of qualitative type, and the collection of data was done by the researcher teacher, by means of the daily notations in its daily one of field and of the analysis of the activities developed for the pupils of the group. The data searched for students that had been considered, to construct mathematical models which portraied some aspects of the subject. The analysis of the questionings, as well as the validation of the models was done in groups of four pupils with accompaniment of researcher and was based on the stages of the Mathematical Modeling suggested by Bassanezi (2002). For better agreement of the graphical behavior of studied function, it was used Excel program. From the analyses of the obtained results, it was possible to notice positive changes in the behavior of the pupils in classroom. They had become more participative and discuss the quarrels that appeared in each lesson. One perceived that, the use of the Modeling, propitiated greater motivation for the mathematical contents that were being discuss, beyond a significant improvement in the performance. It is inferred that the boarding of the subject made it possible the quarrel of referring questions to the environment and improve the development of the critical capacity to perceive the importance of the ambient question for the society where they live. |
