Resumo: Whereas the content of Geometric Transformations normally is not worked in Mathematics classes in High School, this dissertation presents the results of a research that sought to analyze the contributions of the concepts of Geometric Transformations, used in Computer Graphics, for the learning of operations whit matrices. The theory behind this study is that of Significant Learning, for the development of student learning. The subjects that participated in this research were students of the third year of high school in a state school in the municipality of Santo Ângelo. The proposed activities were organized in a learning unit, structured according to the methodology of the Three Pedagogical Moments (TMP), which is resented by Delizoicov, Angotti and Pernambuco (2011). The technological resource used to explore the Geometric Transformations in the development of the learning unit was the software GeoGebra. This research has a qualitative and quantitative character, being used as instruments for data collection, two questionnaires and two tests (Pre-test and Post-Test), which were applied before (Pre-test) and after (Post-test) the activities of learning, participant observation and the logbook, it was possible to verify that the students presented difficulties in the concepts of Matrices and their operations and Geometric Transformations, with this, it can be concluded that the learning activities developed in this research with the use of GeoGebra software, contributed to the students to study the concepts of Geometric Transformations and Computer Graphics, and with these concepts can help in the understanding and reinforcement of the concepts of Matrices And its operations. The students demonstrated willingness, autonomy to develop the proposed learning activities and willingness to learn these worked concepts and they liked to work with GeoGebra software, because it provided a better visualization of the Geometric Transformations and the identification of each pair ordered for the construction of the Matrices.
