Resumo: At school, the importance of interactive didactic-pedagogical resources with potential to instigate students' ability to assimilate knowledge is undeniable. Thus, in view of the need to expand knowledge about the biodiversity of birds in southern Brazil, especially in the region of Quarta Colônia Geopark (QCG), aspiring to UNESCO World Geopark, the present study aimed to develop the didactic resource- pedagogical “ORNITOÁLBUM” as a tool to make such knowledge more exciting and scientifically grounded. In this sense, the present research has a qualitative approach, making use of bibliographical and documentary searches. As a result, “ORNITOÁLBUM” brings knowledge about environmental preservation with a focus on the diversity of birds in southern Brazil, and proposes interactive challenges to students, which include elements of digital technology. These challenges are presented in the form of dynamics and problem-situations focused on niche and habitat, which include differences in the morphological adaptations of different types of bird legs and beaks. It also addresses the diversity of eggs and nests, as well as the most abundant and endangered bird species, which enhances scientific curiosity and leads to critical/reflective actions in relation to the environment, in a perspective of knowing to respect and preserve. In this way, it is assumed that the Educational Product (EP) can enhance and stimulate logical reasoning, exercise the senses, sensitivity, social interaction and improve students' self-esteem and sense of wellbeing. In addition, the didactic-pedagogical use of “ORNITOÁLBUM” can stimulate environmental education in the sense of mediating knowledge about the biodiversity of birds present in the southern region of Brazil – especially those from the QCG region. Finally, the aforementioned EP has the potential to inspire researchers and professors from other regions and countries who, by replicating or adapting it, will be able to mobilize personal and collective attitudes of respect, responsibility and empathy, in the face of local and regional issues, with positive environmental impacts.
