This dissertation is part of the objective of the Agenda of Research Priorities of the Ministry of Health – APPMS. Among the 14 axes published, it is inserted, more specifically, in two, namely: Axis 4 - Development of technologies and innovation in health, in which item 2 presents the Development of tools and mechanisms, in the field of health, highlighting the development of technologies that can contribute to health promotion. Axis 14 - Mention maternal and child health, emphasizing item 14.4. The evaluation of care for children with various viral diseases, in health care networks. Objectives: To describe the theoretical methodological framework from the development to the implementation of the electronic nursing record in a pediatric inpatient ward of a medium-sized hospital located in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. Thus, to study and discuss with nurses working in a pediatric inpatient ward, about the nursing record, as a tool for the systematization of nursing care and to develop a electronic nursing record instrument, to be implemented in a pediatric inpatient ward. Methodology: The methodological course was conducted through action research, carried out between September/2021 and March/2022, from five monthly meetings to discuss the Nursing History with the seven nurses who work in the aforementioned Pediatric Unit. The action research was developed in seven phases: 1st Phase - Study of the situational diagnosis, in order to identify demands; 2nd Phase - Development of actions to solve the problem; 3rd phase - Analysis of the collected data; 4th Phase - Development of the Pediatric Nursing Record script; 5th Phase - Implementation of the physical examination in the computer system of the referred hospital; 6th Phase - Operationalization and evaluation of the electronic physical examination; 7th Phase - Evaluation of the process and feedback to the research participants. Results: The results of this study presented the development of a electronic instrument, of the nursing electronic record, to be implemented in the Pediatric Inpatient Unit of a medium-sized hospital, which provides 100% of its services to the Unified Health System. The Nursing History constitutes one of the stages of the Nursing Process and is anchored in the theory of Basic Human Needs by Wanda de Aguiar Horta. The Nursing History was developed in partnership with the nurses of that unit and consisted of: Child identification data: child's history from birth to hospitalization; Basic Human Needs: psychological, physiological, thermal regulation, oxygenation, food, elimination, hygiene, safety, love and attention, among others. Next, this instrument was evaluated by the hospital's management team and also by Information Technology professionals, who provided a favorable opinion for its implementation in the hospital's electronic system. Final considerations: The theoretical-methodological path taken from the creation to the implementation of the electronic nursing record, in a constructive and collaborative way with the nurses of the pediatric inpatient ward, showed professional growth and qualification in the process of systematization of nursing care in this ward. Although the professionals initially showed weaknesses in relation to the Nursing Process, these were overcome through active involvement in discussions and collaborative constructions. Product and its practical applicability: An electronic nursing record was developed. It allows qualifying the Nursing Process in a pediatric hospital ward. The nursing record developed was inserted into the TOTVS Information System, of the TOTVS RM ERP system line, adopted by the hospital. However, before its implementation in this system, the nursing record underwent careful evaluation by the IT technicians, in addition to validation by the nurses of the aforementioned pediatric ward. |
